At Sheep Inc. we invest 5% of revenue for each knitwear sold into our Impact Fund, supporting projects that improve our collective futures. For our Endless Tide Collection we decided to direct these funds to EarthEcho International, an NGO that strives to build a global youth movement to protect and restore our ocean planet for a more sustainable future. EarthEcho was founded in 2005 by Philippe and Alexandra Cousteau in honour of their father Philippe Cousteau Sr., and their grandfather, explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau.

EarthEcho International.

Why Ocean conservation and youth education.

The ocean covers more than 70% of our Earth’s surface, holding approximately 96.5% of the Planet’s water and producing 50% of the oxygen we breathe. The ocean and climate are inextricably linked. Our blue lungs transport heat from the equator to the poles, regulating our climate and weather patterns.

The climate crisis is the defining challenge of our era. One we cannot solve without working on various synergic levels of action. One of them has to be preserving our ocean’s health. Sustainability is a complex system. But also an exciting journey. We have bold ambitions, not just to change an industry, but to change a mindset and, similar to EarthEcho International, we believe activating youth is key to building a durable conservation movement that can move with the speed and audacity needed to transform the future.

EarthEcho International.

Activations we will be directly supporting.

When purchasing an Endless Tide Collection Hoodie, you will be enabling EarthEcho to continue to develop and grow their educational and youth development programs. Their activations include the EarthEcho Academy, a virtual learning space developed to provide online courses for middle school STEM teachers; and the Youth Action Network which unites young environmental leaders from around the world and provides them with

  • A platform to take collective action to address environmental challenges.
  • Access to a community of young environmental change makers around the world.
  • Year-round opportunities to learn from and connect with the EarthEcho team and partner organizations.

Today only 7% of our oceans are protected. EarthEcho is on a journey to change this through their 30x30 initiative. A program designed to amplify the collective impact of youth-led action to protect 30% of our oceans by 2030 through education and advocacy campaigns, active engagement in ocean policy, and direct coastal restoration efforts. So far the program has engaged youth across 32 countries thanks to the support of people who believe in the next generation’s power to change things for the better.

EarthEcho International.

Together we can amplify EarthEcho’s voice. Because never doubt a small group of people can change the world.
